About The Great Pollito

Hello, hello, my name is Jafet, and this is our story.

In 2021, my life changed when I rescued two adorable cockatiels, Pollito and his brother Odi, from a backyard breeder in Cerritos, California. Pollito had an intestinal infection, and Odi had a dislocated leg. Seeing these two birds in such need awakened a deep empathy in me and a new perspective on how we should treat animals.

Caring for Pollito and Odi and seeing their full recovery inspired me to do more for suffering animals. Thus, The Great Pollito Project was born, with the mission to rescue, rehome, and care for birds and pets that have been lost or neglected. Since then, we have started working on this project with the goal of providing a safe and loving refuge for every animal we rescue.

Our Mission

At The Great Pollito Project, we are committed to:

• Rescue: We act quickly to rescue birds and pets in situations of risk or abandonment.

• Rehoming: We find loving and suitable homes for all rescued animals, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve.

• Future Services: Soon, we will offer grooming and other animal care services to further support the well-being of our rescues and the broader community.
